Historically fisheries is a predominantly a male-dominated sector, however WATCH 2020 recognizes and highlights the value of women’s contribute to fisheries. This document presents the initiatives and projects from around the world involving women working in fisheries and efforts to adapt policies, ultimately providing economic benefits, social protection and the improvement of fishers’ wellbeing.
