Africa is facing several challenges that may negatively impact the fisheries sector and the fish protein supply in this continent. Climate change, degraded ecosystems, a burgeoning population, and inadequate governance mechanisms are distinct and significant threats.

The study highlights the solutions to enable the sustainable development of fisheries and resolve the significant challenges threatening Africa’s fishing and coastal communities and the fisheries on which they depend.
