ELIMINATING GOVERNMENT SUPPORT TO ILLEGAL, UNREPORTED AND UNREGULATED FISHING

Government subsidies to fisheries may unintentionally support vessels involved in illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. This report assesses how to stop IUU fishing from benefitting from government support. This document suggests a range of actions governments can implement to cut aid to IUU fishing through specific and implicit mechanisms.
