The Role of EU Markets in Securing Sustainable Tuna Fisheries (Webinar)
May 3, 2021
The involvement of trade and retail in sustainable management of the tuna stocks is rapidly changing the landscape of international tuna governance. More and more stakeholders realize that their interests are directly affected by the decision-making in Regional Fisheries Management Organizations (RFMOs).
This webinar aims to clarify how these mechanisms work for the European market, which topics of managing sustainable tuna are at stake and what are the most important challenges for the market stakeholders to guarantee the supply of sustainable tuna that will be on the agenda in the next future.
These main issues will be presented in three Panels:
• Panel 1 The sustainable tuna management landscape
• Panel 2 What sustainable tuna policies are at stake
• Panel 3 The sustainable tuna supply challenges ahead
This is an open webinar, but is particularly directed to an audience professionally involved with tuna selling, tuna management policies, EU- and RFMO-officials, national and EP politicians and NGOs working on tuna.
