The Pacific Community (SPC) is engaged in capacity building services across the Pacific and is one of nine Council of Regional Organisations in the Pacific (C ROP) agencies collaborating on technical and scientific work on interdisciplinary issues. The SPC’s Coastal Fisheries Science and Management Section assists governments and administrations in the development of scientifically informed and socially achievable coastal fisheries management policies and systems in line with the guiding principles of the “New song for coastal fisheries – pathways to change: The Noumea strategy”.
